On Tuesday (April 8), Arcade Fire announced the upcoming release of their seventh studio album, Pink Elephant, which is set to arrive on May 9, along with sharing the lead single, “Year of the Snake.” The album features 10 tracks recorded at Win Butler and Régine Chassagne’s Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans, and is described as a “cinematic, mystical punk” work that explores themes of light, darkness, and “the perception of the individual.” The Grammy-winning band also unveiled the album’s cover art, which features an elephant-shaped candle burning against a pink backdrop. This release follows Arcade Fire’s previous album, 2022’s We, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and claimed the No. 1 spot on the Top Rock Albums chart. Ahead of the release, the band launched a new app called Circle of Trust, which shares exclusive music and videos with fans and gives them early access to tickets. (Billboard)
