The Springfield City Council during a special session on Monday approved a contract with Lincoln Capital Land LLC to purchase 20 megawatts of solar-generated electricity for the city each year for the next 20 years at an annual maximum cost of 2.3 million dollars.
Sun2o is planning a solar array on 12-hundred acres west of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport.
