An explosion in a Springfield garage injured a firefighter, two police officers and a civilian on Sunday night, and a man faces arson charges in connection with the incident.
First responders were called to a fire in a detached garage in the 2100 block of South 12th Street. Police arrested 38-year-old Christopher Jackson of Springfield.
The cause of the fire and explosion was not released.
Several nearby buildings were also damaged.
Police said they have issued ordinance violation citations for illegal burning at the location several times in the past six months.
