One person is dead and two others are injured after a shooting on Monday evening on Springfield’s east side.
Springfield Police said officers responded to a report of a shooting before 6 pm in the 2200 block of South 14th Street. All three victims were taken to area hospitals where two were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said the third victim, an 18-year-old man from Rochester, was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival before 7 pm in the emergency room of HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
No further details were available as police continue to investigate
