On Friday (September 26), Judas Priest released their cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” featuring a duet between Rob Halford and the late Ozzy Osbourne in his first posthumous musical appearance since his death in July. According to the release, “all profits from audio streams, downloads, and physical sales of the recording will be donated to The Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation and Cure Parkinson’s.” The release of the charity single honors Osbourne, who had publicly battled Parkinson’s disease since 2020 and famously took part in the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert shortly before he passed. Halford credits Sharon Osbourne for making this collaboration happen, while proudly admitting, “It’s the first ever time in my entire life that I’ve been able to do a duet with Ozzy, and I’m so eternally grateful and blessed that I was able to do that.” (Rolling Stone)
