Jack Osbourne Says Black Sabbath’s Final Show Was “A Living Wake” For Ozzy

During a new interview with Good Morning America, Jack Osbourne described Black Sabbath’s final show in July as a “living wake” for his late father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away 17 days later at the age of 76. At the ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert in Birmingham, Ozzy performed seated on a giant winged throne alongside Sabbath’s original lineup featuring Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, marking their first live reunion since 2005. Jack recalled hugging Ozzy before the show and sharing words of encouragement with his dad, while revealing his thoughts about the performance. “I was in the crowd and I was with my brother and we both were just crying – it wasn’t because of feeling sorry for him, it wasn’t because we were sad for him, I think it was because we knew it was the last time,” Jack shared, while adding, “In hindsight, it kind of was a living wake, if you think about it. He got to say goodbye to everyone.” (NME)
