A 69-year-old Roodhouse woman died in an accident earlier this afternoon near the intersection of S. 7th St. and East Laurel in Springfield.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon can confirm that the victim was transported by EMS to HSHS St. John’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead at around 3 P.M. shortly after arriving in the emergency room.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending next of kin notification.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department.
