City Water, Light and Power is providing tips on staying cool while saving energy.
CWLP suggests turning up the thermostat a few degrees while using ceiling or box fans in occupied rooms.
Programmable and smart thermostats can raise the room temperature slightly when no one is home.
Lowering the water heater temperature from the default 140 degrees to 120 degrees can save 6 to 10 percent.
