Back to school is just around the corner and the state of Illinois has announced the sales tax holiday on qualified back to school purchases will run from August 7th through August 16th.
During that time the state’s portion of the sales tax will drop from 6.25% to 1.25%.
Eligible purchases include clothing and footwear priced under $125 as well as school supplies like backpacks, binders, calculators, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, scissors, rulers, folders and lunch boxes.
