Meet Our Latest Friend
The Morning Routine with Rocki & Lacey was joined by Brandy Apgar, Senior Donor Relations Relations Manager, and we caught up about her recent marriage and Compass For Kids summer updates. She regaled us about her wedding and how they had small brunch themed ceremony. This week marks the final week of Camp Compass, and this summer has been filled with learning, math, karaoke, reading, and literacy exercises. All the teachers are very engaged in helping these kids grown and learn over the summer.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. In Springfield, Illinois, Compass for Kids has spent years doing exactly that by providing high-quality educational and enrichment programs that help children build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. At the heart of the organization’s community engagement efforts is Brandy Apgar whose passion for the mission helps connect supporters with life-changing opportunities for local youth.
This year, Compass for Kids is inviting the community to come together for a very special occasion. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the nonprofit will host its annual Back to School Brunch Fundraiser at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield. The event also marks a major milestone as Compass for Kids celebrates 10 years as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth.
Guests can look forward to:
- A delicious brunch buffet
- Shopping opportunities through the Compass Marketplace
- Inspiring updates about the organization’s programs and impact
- Stories highlighting years of service to local children and families
- Opportunities to support future programming and youth initiatives
The event schedule includes doors opening at 10:00 a.m., brunch being served at 11:00 a.m., the program beginning at 11:45 a.m., and the event concluding at 12:30 p.m.
Brandy Apgar and the entire Compass for Kids team invite community members, business leaders, and supporters to be part of this important celebration on September 19. As the organization reflects on a decade of nonprofit service and looks toward the future, this fundraiser serves as both a celebration of impact and a call to action.
Together, the Springfield community can help Compass for Kids continue changing lives, one child at a time
