Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is asking Governor JB Pritzker to sign into law a bill that would lead to massive auto insurance reform.
The bill in question, Senate Bill 714, would ban insurance companies from increasing auto premiums by more than 10% without notifying consumers 30 days before their renewal date.
The bill also gives the Illinois Department of Insurance the task of ensuring rates are fairer.
Governor Pritzker showed support for the bill back in May but has yet to sign it.
