A former Springfield Park District trustee has announced he is circulating petitions to run for Springfield city council.
C.J. Metcalf announced on Monday that he plans to run for the seat that will be vacated by term-limited Ward 9 Alderman Jim Donelan.
Metcalf served two terms on the Springfield Park District board and has been clerk of the Sangamon County Water Reclamation District Board, as well as serving on the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau board and as chairman of the board at the Illinois Parks Association Risk Services.
Metcalf has lived in Ward 9 since 2014.
