Cierra Coker has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2022 death of 19-month-old Sophia Davis.
The jury in the trial began deliberations early Thursday afternoon after hearing 9 days of arguments.
Coker was found guilty under both Type A and Type B first-degree murder charges, but found her not guilty of the charge alleging the murder was accompanied by exceptionally brutal or heinous behavior indicative of wanton cruelty.
Coker’s previous murder trial ended in a mistrial due to the fact that the jury couldn’t reach a unanimous decision.
