The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will be holding a ceremonial event to honor the two men who were killed in the 1908 Race Riot.
The ceremony will take place on Friday August 14th at the intersection of 11th and Madison at 11 a.m.
Soil from the spots where the men were lynched will be reverently collected for display at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Eventually, the jars of soil will be added to a national collection remembering victims of racial terror lynching.
