The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in Illinois ticked down 0.2 percent from June to July according to data provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The 4.9 percent unemployment rate from July is up +0.6 percentage point from the same month, one year ago.
The revised June Unemployment rate was 5.1 percent.
The industry sectors with the largest monthly payroll jobs increases included: Private Education and Health Services , Trade, Transportation and Utilities, and Professional and Business Services.
