While the state of Illinois received a couple of credit ratings upgrades last week, the city of Springfield’s credit rating remained stable.
The city announced on Friday that their credit rating from Moody’s remained at A2 status. Moody’s stated that Springfield’s stable economic outlook stems from the City’s continued focus on responsible financial management and conservative spending practices.
“Maintaining a strong credit rating reflects our commitment to being responsible with our community’s taxpayer dollars,” said Mayor Misty Buscher. “I am proud of the progress we have made and will continue working to keep Springfield on a strong financial path.”
