The identity of the man killed in a motorcycle crash on September 5th has been revealed.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon confirms that 42-year-old William McCarthy was transported by EMS to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, after a motorcycle he was operating crashed.
The crash took place near Illinois Route 54 and Camp Butler Road.
McCarthy was pronounced deceased at 9:01pm, in the emergency room, shortly after his arrival.
The autopsy showed Mr. McCarthy died from multiple blunt force injuries. The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department.
