A new study shows the work-from-home force in Sangamon County more than doubled from 2019 to 2024.
The study by whatarethebest.com reported Sangamon County had nearly 13 percent of workers doing their jobs remotely. The county’s remote workforce percentage ranked eighth in the state. The percentage of remote workers in the county in 2019 was just over 6 percent.
Macon County recorded the lowest percentage of remote workers in 2024 at 6.3 percent.
