Applications open today for the state’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
The state has $240 million available for the program, which supported more than 360,000 households last year with an average of $676 per household.
Applications are accepted in October from those 60 or older, disabled individuals, families with children 5 years old or younger, and those disconnected or about to be disconnected from utilities.
Families earning up to twice the federal poverty level are eligible.
