Illinois State Police report two more of its squads were struck last week by vehicles disobeying the state’s Move Over Law.
One of the crashes occurred in a construction zone on Interstate 55 north of Sherman before midnight Thursday when a vehicle struck a stationary squad with emergency lights on.
ISP said the driver, 43-year-old Tiffany Sipes of Williamsville, was charged with a Scott’s Law violation and driving under the influence.
The trooper was inside the vehicle and taken to a hospital by another trooper as a precaution.
Illinois State Police have been involved in 12 crashes due to move-over law violations this year with injuries to three troopers.
