A Taylorville man has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault of a minor at the Taylorville YMCA.
Taylorville Police said Wednesday that 37-year-old Shane Ross is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 years of age.
Ross is in the Christian County Jail after pre-trial release was denied during his first court appearance on Wednesday.
Police said national YMCA officials issued a statement saying they are deeply troubled by the incident in a family restroom and are cooperating with authorities. Ross’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 17.
