After a couple of weeks of struggle, Rapper Fred the Godson has died from. Coronavirus complications. The Bronx MC, who is known for tracks like “Toast to That” and “Doves Fly” featuring Pusha T, posted an Instagram photo of himself in the hospital on April 6th. The photo of Fred with an oxygen mask on featured the caption I’m in here wit this Corvus 19 sh*t! Please keep me in y’all prayers.” Days later, his wife told outlets that he was being weened off of his ventilator; it is unknown if he was ever released from the hospital.
There has been an outpouring of support and well-wishes for the rapper. DJ Clark Kent remembered his talent, saying “His wordplay was INCREDIBLE.” Fat Joe took to social media, saying “I pray that you with PUN and the fellas…”, and NAS posted a tribute on Instagram, saying “Peace to you Fred The God Son.”
