A judge has denied Tory Lanez's request to stay out of prison while he appeals his conviction for Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper was sentenced to 10 years last month. During a brief hearing yesterday, Judge David Herriford denied the bail motion, citing the “violent felony” Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) was convicted of, his “history of violating court orders,” and the fact that he isn't a U.S. citizen (he's Canadian.) Lanez was found guilty last year on 3 charges: negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. He later wrote a letter to fans insisting that he was wrongfully convicted and refusing to apologize. The shooting happened in July 2020, and video shared at the time shows Megan limping away from Lanez's vehicle while leaving a trail of blood.
