AJR have shared a cover of Fountains Of Wayne‘s “Hackensack” in honor of bassist Adam Schlesinger, who died in April from complications related to COVID-19.
AJR said in a statement, “Fountains of Wayne have been one of our biggest inspirations as a band . . . We were so upset to hear about losing Adam Schlesinger to COVID-19, so we wanted to do this salute to one of our favorite songs of all time.”
AJR's third album, Neotheater, came out in April 2019 and features the current single “Bang!,” which is Number Three at alternative radio.
AJR is based in New York City and composed of multi-instrumentalist brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met. The band's name comes from the three siblings' first initials. The band members write, produce and mix their own material in the living room of their Chelsea apartment.
