This Thanksgiving, Woodward Community Media Springfield partnered with local businesses to spread holiday cheer by giving away 100 turkeys and 2500 pumpkin pies in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.
The festivities kicked off with the second annual turkey giveaway at Team Calhoun’s on Friday, November 22, 2024. In a heartwarming display of community spirit, 100 turkeys were handed out for free as a ‘Thank You’ to the community. The event was a resounding success, with all 100 turkeys distributed in less than an hour. Woodward Community Media Springfield radio stations 104.5 WFMB, 99-7 The Mix, and Sports Radio 92.3FM / 1450AM supported the event with live broadcasts, ensuring everyone knew where to go for their Thanksgiving turkey.
The celebrations continued on Monday, November 25, 2024, with Robertson Lawn Care’s annual Pie Day. This year’s event was the biggest ever, with 2500 pumpkin pies given away throughout the day. Jack Robertson, who looks forward to this day each year, was joined by his entire family to help distribute the pies. Once again, 104.5 WFMB, 99-7 The Mix, and Sports Radio 92.3FM / 1450AM were on hand to broadcast live and spread the word, making sure no one missed out on their free pie.
