On Thursday, Aerosmith announced that they will be reuniting to perform at an upcoming charity event in Los Angeles. In August of 2024, the classic rock legends announced their retirement from the road due to Steven Tyler’s severe vocal cord injury. But Aerosmith will make a triumphant return to the stage at the Hollywood Palladium to perform at the sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party on February 2. The charity concert will also feature performances from Joan Jett, Billy Idol, Linda Perry, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, with actor/comedian Tiffany Haddish serving as host. The benefit will support Tyler’s charity, Janie’s Fund, which aims to “bring hope and healing to girls and young women who have experienced trauma,” as well as the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund. “Music has healing powers,” Tyler said, “and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires.” (Rolling Stone)
