While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tout environmental causes, a new report from a former British government minister named Norman Baker claims their carbon footprint could be 26 times higher than the average Briton.
He crunched numbers, including the estimated 53 flights they took in the 2019. 18 of which were on private jets.
Harry has consistently urged environmental awareness. Last month, he said we are “living through an extinction crisis” and have “perhaps a decade to course correct before we lock in our fate.”
But Baker maintained in a report for The Sun: “The only thing green about Prince Harry are his wellies. The self-appointed eco-warrior, who likes to lecture everybody else on climate change, is in the top one percent of people on the planet for carbon emissions. He should cut the carbon and, if not, at least cut the c***.”
The pair were recently photographed driving around LA in a Cadillac SUV, another point of contention for Baker, who pointed out that the fuel efficiency is a paltry 14 miles per gallon, whereas the average British car gets 48 miles per gallon.
He told Newsweek: “They make themselves look hypocritical and they damage the case on climate change because people in Britain don't like being lectured to by people who don't practice what they preach.”
DORIA RAGLAND
Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland, meanwhile, has been spending a lot of time with the pair and their son Archie in L.A. A source tells Us Weekly: “Doria Ragland continues to live with Meghan, Harry and Archie. This has been the most time she has spent with her grandson since he was born.”
She is also reportedly helping Meghan make Archie’s all-organic diet together.
