Land of Lincoln Honor Flight set for Mission #73 this April 15

The Land of Lincoln Honor Flight is set to commence its 2025 flying season with Mission #73 on April 15.

This mission will honor 93 veterans, including 11 Korean Era veterans and 82 Vietnam Era veterans, hailing from 41 towns across Illinois.

The veterans, representing all branches of the military, along with their guardians, will gather at the Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport at 4 a.m. to embark to Washington, D.C.

They will visit significant sites such as the World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknowns, the Lincoln Memorial, the National Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia, the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, and more.

The veterans are scheduled to return to Springfield airport at 9:30 p.m. later that same Tuesday.
