Primus has collaborated with Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan on their brand new single, “Little Lord Fentanyl.” The track marks Primus’ first release in three years, and their initial recording featuring their new drummer, John Hoffman. A press release describes the track as a “twisted fable steeped in groove and dark humor,” with the song showcasing Hoffman’s playful rhythms paired with the funky bass of Les Claypool, who shares vocal duties with Keenan. The release of the track coincides with Primus’ ongoing Sessanta V2.0 tour with Keenan’s other bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, which is set to conclude on June 7th in Auburn, Washington. Primus will then embark on their own summer headlining dates on their Onward & Upward Tour, which will feature support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon on select dates. (Consequence of Sound)
