Update: 06/13/25: CWLP announced Friday morning that the boil order from Wednesday has now been lifted for the Lincolnshire subdivision community.

Update: Issued at 3:55 PM: CWLP noted the community that repairs are complete and water service is currently being restored to all customers in Lincolnshire subdivision. Customers in this area are under a boil order, and door-to-door notices are going out now. Water quality sampling results to be read on Friday morning will confirm if the water meets all standards and at such time, this boil order would be lifted.

As precaution, customers under a boil order should boil all tap water used for drinking or cooking before use until this order is lifted, which is anticipated to be Friday, June 13th in the morning. Until such time, water for drinking or cooking should be brought to a “rolling” boil for five minutes and then cooled before use as a precaution.

When the order is lifted it will be announced by door-to-door notifications to customers affected. Customers affected wanting more information on their service may also call the Water Communications Desk at 217-789-2323 ext. 2.

Original: CWLP stated on Wednesday morning that, due to a 12-inch water main break, water service to customers in Lincolnshire subdivision is temporarily interrupted and a boil order is planned to be issued.

City Water, Light and Power crews are awaiting underground locates and will work to make repairs as promptly as possible. Due to the size and scope of the break, the boil order will be issued to the 360 customers in the impacted area.

Water Dispatch at 217-789-2323 ext. 2 can assist customers with any questions, and updates to the work status may be posted to CWLP’s social media on Facebook and X
