The Illinois State Fair just got a whole lot hotter! A huge round of applause goes to Heaterz Hot Chicken, the proud winner of the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Golden Abe’s Fantastic Fair Food Contest. Their creation, Nashville Hot Chicken, stole the show with over 4,700 votes, making it the clear favorite among fairgoers.
Sponsored by Woodward Community Media, the Golden Abe’s Fantastic Fair Food contest is the tastiest showdown on the fairgrounds, where vendors compete for culinary glory. This year’s competition was fierce, but several standout dishes earned top honors across multiple categories.
