Congressman Darin LaHood says that while health care is a factor in the current federal government shutdown, he and his fellow Republicans have already addressed aspects of its growing costs.
LaHood told WMAY’s Patrick Pfingsten on PM Springfield that Congress cannot govern by crisis, and any discussion on health care or other issues should not hold the government hostage.
Democratic Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski told PM Springfield that she’s proud to fight for health care. Budzinski said the government shutdown is terrible, particularly for the 11,000 federal workers in her district, but Republicans must work with Democrats because the GOP does not have enough votes to push through a package on their own.
