Illinois voters will not see a millionaire amendment when they head to the polls in November.
Capitol News Illinois reports House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch told reporters on Wedneday night the proposed amendment did not have enough support to pass the House.
The amendment would have implemented a 3 percent tax on income over one million dollars, and the money would go to property tax relief and K-12 education.
