Resurfacing begins today on a two-mile stretch of Ninth Street and Peoria Road in Springfield between Madison Street and Sangamon Avenue.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said lanes will be closed and access to side streets could be affected.
Work on the 1.8-million-dollar project is expected to be completed by the end of November.
