Catholic Charities of the Springfield Diocese has recently received more than 42-hundred pounds of food from Catholic Charities USA.
The donation delivered by Sysco includes seven pallets of food including vegetables, fruits, shelf-stable milk, and staples such as rice, beans, pasta and soup.
Catholic Charities Executive Director Steven Roach said the donation will help replenish supplies that were used for the recent surge at food pantries related to the temporary suspension of SNAP benefits.
