The skating rink in downtown Springfield is open for the season.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum offers free skating on the artificial surface that is similar to ice at Union Square Park.
Rink hours are 1 to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays through mid-February as well as selected holidays.
Skating and skate rentals are free although donations are welcome.
The grand opening is Wednesday at 4:30 featuring President and Mrs. Lincoln re-enactors.
