Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 370 have announced ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement affecting more than 800 employees.
SIU Medicine said the three-year contract includes across-the-board raises and market adjustments as well as longevity pay.
Registered nurses move to non-exempt status, making them eligible for overtime pay, and will receive five weeks of vacation.
Policies were strengthened for bereavement, extended sick leave and parental leave.
The agreement is effective from July 1st of this year through June 30, 2028.
