Madigan Asks Trump for a Pardon

By Mike Wennmacher Dec 11, 2025 | 11:51 AM

Despite years of being on the opposite side of the aisle politically former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan is asking President Donald Trump for a pardon.

An online registry through the Department of Justice’s pardon attorney showed Madigan has filed for a pardon after he finishes his sentence.

Madigan was found guilty of corruption in June, and has been serving a seven and a half year sentence in a West Virginia prison.

The specific details about the pardon filing are not entirely clear.
