The president of the American Medical Association said he witnessed high-quality medical and emotional care in his tour of a Springfield hospital on Wednesday.
Dr. Bobby Mukkamala toured HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital on Wednesday.
Mukkamala said he was impressed that so many St. John’s employees had long tenures there, calling it a “unicorn” in health care.
The Flint, Michigan surgeon also said the health care industry must attract more younger people by finding ways to reduce crushing debt required for most to go through medical school.
