The April climate report from the National Weather Service at Lincoln shows a wet month that pulled the area out of drought conditions.
Daily rainfall records were reported on April 27th in Springfield with 3.62 inches and in Lincoln with 2.7 inches.
Multiple storm system dropped from 4 to 8 inches of rain throughout Central Illinois. April was the 13th wettest month on record in Springfield with 6.35 inches of rain.
Well-above normal temperatures produced no single-day records although it was the fifth warmest April on record in Springfield.
