Springfield School District 186 officials joined builders and designers on Friday morning to cut the ribbon on the district’s newest school.
Owen Marsh Elementary School will occupy a new building next to the current structure this fall.
District 186 Superintendent Jennifer Gill said the new Owen Marsh will honor several people and will provide brighter and more functional space.
Classes will begin in the new school in August. The former Owen Marsh Elementary School will be demolished after the current term ends.
