Gasoline prices in the Springfield area fell below $4 last week, a drop of about 23 cents from a week earlier according to AAA.
The agency reports average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Springfield today is $3.93, 90 cents lower than a month ago but 69 cents higher than one year ago.
The current average price of a gallon of diesel in Springfield is $4.86, down about 34 cents over the week but $1.21 higher than one year ago.
