The National Weather Service confirmed an EF1 tornado traveled through northern Springfield on Wednesday, following the same path as the storm one week earlier.
The Lincoln office said the tornado first touched down in southern Menard County and moved into Salisbury, continuing through Springfield on a 24-mile path before ending about two miles west of Mechanicsburg.
A garage and roof of a home were damaged in Salisbury followed by damage to a garage door in Springfield. Peak winds were estimated at 100 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service earlier confirmed a shorter EF0 tornado traveled through Pawnee as part of the same system, which intensified as it traveled east with an EF2 tornado in Charleston and Mattoon and an EF3 tornado in Effingham.
