Former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan is taking his case to the Supreme Court.
In a petition for review dated July 27, attorneys asked the court to overturn an April 27 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit upholding his conviction on an array of corruption charges.
Madigan’s attorneys say the case gives the court a much-needed opportunity to resolve differing interpretations of federal bribery law.
