Republican candidate for Governor Darren Bailey has gotten a surprise endorsement in the race, the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
Bailey, who has been trying to stress that the campaign should be about the issues facing everyday Illinoisians, was surprised by the timing of the endorsement.
Bailey said that while he appreciates the President’s endorsement, he hopes voters stay focused on the task at hand which according to Bailey is “fixing what JB Pritzker has broken for eight years.”
