Sangamon County Circuit Clerk Joe Roesch’s office has announced plans to host a special passport registration event at Lincoln Library for the public this coming weekend.
From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, agents from the clerk’s office will be present at the library at 326 S. 7th Street in Springfield to assist with processing passport applications. The usual passport fees will still apply . Current processing times can be found at travel.state.gov.
Attendees must bring the following items for their passport application:
- Valid photo ID
- Two checks or money orders to pay applicable fees.
- A certified birth certificate copy (no photocopies or hospital certificates)
- Approved passport photo (the clerk’s agents can take the photo on your behalf)
- If necessary, certified copies of court orders for name change, custody or adoption decrees
Members of the public who cannot attend the event but still wish to acquire a passport can apply at the County Circuit Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
