An attempt at a tongue and cheek pandemic relief fundraiser in New Mexico is causing a stir.
“Sit on Santan’s Lap” gives people the chance to “sit” on the lap of a person dressed like Satan dressed as Santa. The cost? $6.66. Santan will be sitting behind a barrier with his knee exposed for people can sit on it
Some people think it is funny. Other, more church going folk, don’t find humor in the event.
The event is scheduled to take places at the University of New Mexico’s Johnson Field on December 19. UMC says they did not authorize the event and mass gatherings are not allowed under current public heath orders.
