Could 2021 be the year of the Creed reunion? With this year all but written off in terms of big tours and major reunion events, it could be happening once we get the hell out of 2020.
This week, the band updated its Facebook profile photo with an old group shot, igniting rumors of their return. It was noted that previous profile images did not feature any of the band's members, just the band logo against various backgrounds.
Creed initially split in 2004 and reunited in 2009 for its fourth album, titled Full Circle, and a world tour. Ticket sales for the trek were not as impressive as they were predicted to be, and the band went inactive again in 2012.
Singer Scott Stapp returned to his solo career and issued one album with the band Art Of Anarchy, while also dealing with a drug-induced mental breakdown and finally getting sober once and for all.
Meanwhile, the rest of Creed's lineup continued to perform with singer Myles Kennedy as Alter Bridge, which was formed after Creed broke up the first time. Guitarist Mark Tremonti's self-named band has also issued several albums and toured in the past few years.
Tremonti said two years ago in an interview that he was sitting on an album's worth of material for Creed, revealing, “I listened to them maybe a year ago and they're good songs.”
