Despite previously announcing his retirement due to severe hearing loss, Paul Simon surprised fans on Tuesday (February 18) by announcing a series of live dates as part of his 2025 A Quiet Celebration Tour. The 83-year-old folk rock icon, who previously thought he would never tour again, will embark on a lengthy North American run of shows starting on April 4 at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans. The tour will feature multiple-night stands in cities throughout the US and Canada, hosted at intimate venues that will help accommodate Simon’s hearing loss and allow him to perform songs from his recent work, Seven Psalms, live for the first time. Simon’s tour announcement comes after the music legend’s surprise duet with Sabrina Carpenter on a performance of “Homeward Bound” that kicked off the SNL50 Celebration on Sunday night. Presales for select shows begin on February 20, with the public on-sale following on February 21 at 10 a.m. local time. (Billboard)
