A nearly $4 million restoration of the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices in downtown Springfield is complete according to the Illinois Capital Development Board.
The CDB worked with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to restore some of the architecture at the state historic site.
The project also included upgrades to air conditioning, lighting, security systems and fire alarms and sprinklers.
The building was constructed in 1840. It is the only remaining location where Abraham Lincoln maintained a law office.
